“Spokesperson Mastery: Preparing for media and message delivery”
Learn the practical skills and techniques to prepare yourself for any media situation, print, radio, or TV (Pre-recorded and Live). Understand what journalists want and look for in an interview subject and how to make the most of a media opportunity for you and your organization. Practice preparing and delivering soundbite “grabs” and dealing with tricky questions through mock interview practice with a seasoned journalist recording your interviews on-camera and offering constructive feedback for improvement. Hand-outs provided of pre-written key statements to get your message across clearly.
Go on camera in a simulated media interview with live coaching and critique. Leave with a video reel you can send – with additional edits required – directly to TV producers, event organisers for speaking opportunities, and journalists.
OUTCOMES:
You and your staff will leave the session feeling confident and comfortable about approaching the media and being interviewed for that next report you release, or advocating for your work the next time it appears in the news cycle. You will be camera and interview-ready with confidence and practice preparing media lines and delivering your organization’s message to the media.
You’ll learn the journalist’s playbook from someone who uses it every day, and the spokesperson’s survival tactics from someone who implements them live.
