Renewable Energy India Expo: Australia’s doorway to India

Business Match opportunity for Australian companies: Renewable Energy India Expo
8 Min Read

AUSTRALIA is positioned well to benefit from attending India’s energy expo and conference in October this year through established government bilateral trade agreements.

The India–Australia Renewable Energy Partnership (IAREP) launched November 2024 at the Australia‑India Annual Summit in Brazil to strengthen collaboration on solar, energy storage, hydrogen, and grid integration, whereby the Australian government pledged US$171 million (about A$260 million) guarantee provided to India’s Power Finance Corporation for green infrastructure; and the Southeast Asia Investment Financing Facility (SEAIFF) AUD$2billion fund managed by Export Finance Australia to support Australian companies wanting to invest in renewable projects in India and Asia.

Thousands of international attendees are expected to visit Renewable Energy India Expo, to be held on October 22-24 this year in Greater Noida. Asia’s largest clean-energy event anticipates an estimated 55,000+ professionals and 1000+ leading brands, featuring 14 innovation-packed halls, including 10 dedicated to solar and bio-energy advancements, along with specialised battery storage solutions.

This is Asia’s largest platform for solar, wind, bio-energy, energy storage, green hydrogen and e-mobility technologies. The aviation expansion means more options, potentially lower fares, and critically better access to a venue that’s historically been challenging to reach. This event attracts India’s clean-energy market of developers, state utilities, EPCs, manufacturers, financiers and policymakers converge there to source technology, shortlist partners and shape procurement pipelines.

But getting there has been inefficient in the past. International visitors land at Delhi’s main airport, then face a 60–90-minute road transfer through congested NCR traffic. For Australian executives flying in from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth often for short, high-value visits, that adds cost, fatigue and risk.

In late 2025, India approved three new airlines  Shankh Air, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress following a high-profile aviation disruption that exposed how brittle the country’s near-duopoly airline market had become.

Jewar International Airport at Jewar

At the same time, the international airport at Jewar, in Greater Noida near the Expo site, is now scheduled to open in early 2026.

This is not a cosmetic upgrade. It’s a structural improvement in how international business accesses one of India’s most important industrial zones which is now emerging as a hub for solar manufacturing, battery assembly, hydrogen supply chains and logistics.

The timing is strategic. These approvals followed a massive operational “meltdown” at IndiGo in early December that saw over 5000 flights cancelled in a week, leaving thousands of passengers stranded due to pilot shortages and new rest-hour regulations Foe.

FNGN Australian Business-Match Group Expressions of Interest

Future Now Green News is organising an Australian Business-Match group to attend this important India Event in October 2026 (limited spaces available).

Asia’s largest green energy event, hosted at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, has always been a crowning commercial moment for solar, wind, storage, hydrogen and e-mobility suppliers. From exhibitors to bilateral business delegations, the expo is the strategic node where deals are struck, partnerships formed and multi-billion-dollar project pipelines are seeded. (DCCEEW)

Future Now Green News has assembled expert on-ground support (including media interviews) for Australian companies wanting to attend the Renewable Energy India Expo. FNGN will organise everything from airfares to hotel accommodation, plus market intelligence, introductions to decision-makers, and navigation assistance through India’s business protocols.

Australian clean-energy companies are urged to reach out and get involved in India’s $150+ billion renewable build-out. Expressions Of Interest should be emailed to ani@ani-imc.com

Compelling Value Proposition

Australia offers a compelling value proposition in the sector with abundant renewable energy resources, advanced R&D, a skilled workforce, and a stable investment environment. The country is actively investing in a Future Made in Australia and aims to position itself as a renewable energy superpower. Clean energy has also been identified as a key focus area under the India–Australia economic roadmap, offering mutual growth potential.

Austrade has been explicit about India’s importance as a growth market for Australian clean-energy capability.

As Nathan Davis, Austrade’s Trade and Investment Commissioner, noted at a recent India energy event, Australia is actively showcasing its clean-energy expertise and supporting business-to-business linkages across the sector. That support matters in a market where relationships, local context and scale are decisive.

For Australian companies operating under initiatives such as the Southeast Asia Investment Financing Facility, India is not a peripheral market — it is central. The scale of India’s renewable ambitions, combined with Australia’s strengths in storage, hydrogen, grid integration and project development, creates a clear commercial logic.

Why Renewable Energy India Expo Is the Entry Point

For Australian firms, Renewable Energy India Expo is not “just another trade show”. It is the most efficient single gateway into India’s clean-energy ecosystem.

The expo brings together:

  • State electricity boards and renewable agencies that control procurement
  • Large-scale developers and EPCs shaping project pipelines
  • Manufacturers looking for technology partnerships
  • International financiers and multilaterals deploying capital

For first-timers, it compresses months of market scanning into a few days. For established players, it’s where pipelines are refreshed and partnerships deepened. Those who move early will secure better visibility, stronger meetings and higher-quality partnerships. Those who delay will find the market more crowded, and more expensive to enter.

Several major solar panel manufacturers, battery producers, and green hydrogen equipment suppliers are establishing facilities in the Greater Noida industrial corridor. Better aviation access accelerates this clustering effect, making it easier for:

  • International investors to conduct due diligence site visits
  • Technology suppliers to service installations across northern India
  • Government officials from tier-2/tier-3 cities to attend training programs
  • Project developers to manage multiple sites across the region
