Indonesia Liberty Society ESG programs empowering Women

Multi-award-winning Liberty Society in Jakarta, Indonesia, is a social enterprise promoting a circular economy through waste up-cycling via corporate ESG programs into profit centres. Their client list is impressive  –  Uniglo, Singapore Post, Deloitte, Lenova, H&M, to name a few.

Founded in 2019, Liberty Society’s vision is to abolish the injustice of poverty and give purpose and dignity back to marginalized women whose voices were taken away and living a hopeless existence. Women and Community are their focus, to work together in preventing textile, plastic, and paper waste from going to landfills and oceans. Their upcycled creative repurposed innovations give new life to new functional and value-added products while empowering women with purpose, self-esteem, and a livelihood.

Liberty Society partners with local artisans and corporate companies to bring a strong message to more people, including employees, customers, and other shareholders.

They first started by creating fashion apparel and quickly enlarged their product range to include giftware and premium items.

Engaging in sustainability initiatives, they contribute through the introduction of upcycled products and a dedicated line of upcycling services. Their focus involves the conversion of plastic, textile, and paper waste into marketable merchandise, complemented by impactful campaigns. Additionally, they strive to enhance awareness and education, fostering advanced progress in sustainability. This is achieved through offerings such as green event organizing and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activations, particularly targeting livelihood programs for women.
